The ornament
How big is the gondola ornament?
About 4 1/4 inches (10.8 cm) tall from the bottom of the cabin to the top of the ring and 2 1/4 inches (5.7 cm) wide. The twine loop adds another two inches or so. It weighs about an ounce, so it hangs from a thin branch without pulling it down.
Is it fragile?
No. It is a solid piece rather than glass, and it survives a drop onto a hardwood floor. The skis and snowboard are removable by design: if one pops off, it presses straight back onto its peg. It is heat sensitive, though: keep it out of a hot car and away from heaters and direct sun, and it will last for years.
What is it made of?
A durable plant-based bioplastic, made in our California studio and finished by hand, with a loop of natural jute twine. It is odourless and stable at room temperature. Keep it out of direct sun and away from heaters and hot cars.
Is it safe around kids and pets?
It is a decoration, not a toy. The skis and snowboard are small parts, so keep it out of reach of children under three and of pets.
Can I hang it outside?
On a covered porch, yes. Direct sun and rain will shorten its life.
Will you make other colours or a personalised version?
New colours come first, and a version with a name or your home mountain on the back is on the bench. Join the email list and you will hear the day they are ready.
Ordering and shipping
How long until it ships?
Each ornament is made when you order it, so allow 1-3 business days before it ships. You get a tracking email the moment it does. For Christmas delivery, order by December 12.
Is shipping really free?
Yes, on every US order, no minimum. We ship USPS Ground Advantage from California, which takes 2-5 days to most of the country. We do not ship internationally yet.
Can you ship it as a gift, straight to the recipient?
Yes. Enter their address at checkout, add your note, and it goes on the card. There are never prices or receipts in the box.
Do sets really save money?
Yes. Two gondolas are $16.20 each and three are $15.30 each, applied automatically in the cart. Sets ship together in one box.
What is your return policy?
Return any unused ornament within 30 days of delivery for a refund or exchange. You cover return postage; we cover it if we sent the wrong item or it arrived damaged. If something is wrong, email us and we will sort it out quickly.
How do I pay, and is it secure?
Payment is handled by Stripe, which processes payments for millions of businesses. We accept all major cards, Apple Pay, Google Pay and Link. Card details never touch our servers.
Do you offer wholesale or custom colours for a resort or shop?
We do small wholesale runs and custom colourways. Get in touch with quantities and timing.
